Liz Flaherty

Liz was a secondary school teacher for 27 years before moving to work for Hampshire County Council, where she was the county manager for the special educational needs service. She has been an OFSTED inspector, and now works for the department for education (DfE) as the professional adviser on special educational needs for the South East of England. Liz is an experienced governor, having been a foundation governor at St Anne’s catholic primary school for over twenty years. Liz is also a trustee for the Lighthouse  Learning Trust, a multi-academy trust which runs two post 16 provisions in the south of the county.  Since moving to Basingstoke in 1985, Liz has been an active  member of St Joseph’s parish.
